Broker-dealers that have become accustomed to completing Finra branch inspections in sweatpants and slippers just got a lucky break. Finra says the extension of the policy, which was first proposed in November 2020 in response to the Covid-19 outbreak , is meant to ease the logistical challenges of conducting on-site inspections in light of ongoing public health concerns. “The emergence of the Delta variant, dissimilar vaccination rates throughout the United States, and the uptick in transmissions in many locations indicate that Covid-19 remains an active and real public health concern,” Finra said in a proposal filed Tuesday.
